VIVATO LEVERAGES WI-FI TECHNOLOGY TO DELIVER NEW ECONOMICS TO WIRELESS BROADBAND SERVICE PROVIDERS
First Outdoor Wi-Fi Switch Offers Lower Cost of Deployment and Features Critical to Successful Large Scale Wi-Fi Deployments

SUPERCOMM 2003, ATLANTA, GA. - June 3, 2003 - Vivato™, a Wi-Fi infrastructure company, presented details of its unique offering to wireless broadband service providers at SUPERCOMM 2003 today. Vivato's Wi-Fi system dramatically extends the range of Wi-Fi and provides the security and management features that allow service providers to construct new business models for broadband delivery to multi-tenant office buildings, airports, campuses, warehouses, and shopping malls; and extend public access Wi-Fi hot spots to large zones of Wi-Fi.

"Wireless broadband service providers face several challenges in the current market, not the least of which are the costs of expanding Wi-Fi coverage beyond isolated "hot spots" and effectively managing large-scale wireless LANs, client authentication and security," said Lizet Tirres, Senior Research Analyst, Competitive Operator Strategies at Stratecast Partners, a Division of Frost & Sullivan. "By reducing the number of required network elements and effectively expanding the coverage area, a service provider can realize cost savings from a network management perspective."

Greatest Coverage at Lowest Cost of Deployment
The Vivato 2.4 GHz Outdoor Wi-Fi Switch communicates directly with standard Wi-Fi client devices and can project Wi-Fi coverage throughout very large areas. The Vivato
solution offers the scale of fixed wireless systems but eliminates the need for expensive proprietary client hardware thus delivering improved business models for broadband service providers.

"Vivato's planar phased array antenna is a unique architecture that optimizes Wi-Fi deployment options for delivering wireless wide area networks to business customers," said Charles B. McNamee , chief executive officer of U.S. RealTel and its wholly owned subsidiary, Cypress Communications, a leading provider of premium in-building broadband communications services to small and medium sized businesses located in commercial office buildings throughout the United States. "We are currently in trials with the Vivato switch at our Atlanta headquarters and anticipate that Vivato will be a critical player in helping us to build our national Wi-Fi network."

Mission-Critical System Features
Vivato's 2.4 GHz Outdoor Wi-Fi Switch includes advanced security features such as Web based authentication through a "walled garden," multiple Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and Virtual LANs (VLANs). The switch also communicates directly with Radius servers and provides a framework that services providers need for authentication and billing services.

Measuring 1.18m x 1.01m x 14.08cm, the Vivato 2.4 GHz Outdoor Wi-Fi Switch is protected from the natural elements by a custom designed enclosure that is environmentally controlled to maintain the proper thermal environment for the integrated antenna and electronics.

"Vivato is offering unmatched value and quality for wireless broadband delivery, giving broadband service providers a chance to create profitable business models," said Ken
Biba, Vivato CEO and co-founder. "We have seen tremendous interest in our products from this market both abroad and in the U.S."
