Position Title: Systems QA Engineer 1

Position Summary:
Individual will be responsible for ensuring product quality through the
development, documentation, and application of product test methodologies
for all Vivato products with emphasis on data networking and security
features, device management, and protocol functionality and scaling.
Principal Responsibilities
- Develop, document, implement, and execute functional and system test
cases for Vivato Wi-Fi products including scaling and performance, protocol
conformance, interoperability, device management applications, and user
application behavior.
- Characterize failures, defect densities, coverage holes, and risk
areas.
- Suggest solutions, track the status of defects, and verify fixes.
- Work with development teams to drive closure of feature/product issues
and develop test strategies in response to product and technology evolution.
- Ensure that regression test content is consistently applied by integration
into the test Automation Framework, through minimization of manual regression
suites, and participation in regression processes.
- Manage test content and its integration into the Test Management System.
Minimum Qualifications
- Significant knowledge of wireless infrastructure technologies and
IEEE 802.11 standards.
- A thorough understanding of data networking and system test methodologies
with emphasis on Quality Assurance processes.
- Expertise with Unix/Linux scripting, TCL/Expect automation and general
automation concepts.
- Test experience in Java, HTTP or other GUI environments.
- Understanding of SNMP (v1, v2 and v3), MIBs, MIB browsers and applications.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in the development of test plans and
test cases through the interpretation of RFCs and Product Functional
Specifications.
- A BS in Computer, Computer Science, or Electronics Engineering or
equivalent discipline or a minimum of 5 years directly-related technical
experience.
- Direct experience in large-scale test case execution, automation,
test tracking, and status reporting.
- Ability to analyze, critique, and build test cases from Functional
Specifications and Industry Standards.
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with emphasis
on the construction of detailed test plans, test cases, bug reports,
and the distillation of test results in a timely fashion.
- Be of the highest integrity, accountable, and responsible.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with RF technology & phased array/smart antennas.
- Experience with WEP, 802.1x, EAP variants, Radius, TACACS, ACLs, and
IPSec.
- Significant previous experience in designing and debugging WLAN networks
with considerations for range/rate performance, coverage, and scaling.
- Have supported multiple product development cycles for wireless communications
products and device management applications.
- Expertise with Linux-based software development tools, environments
and applications.
- Hands-on knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols and associated RFCs.
- Experience with interoperability test development and execution.
- Have significant technical experience in the support of large-scale,
multi-protocol data networks with Internet connectivity and wireless
components.
- Possess an expert level of knowledge in data networking including
Ethernet, Bridging, TCP/IP, QoS, and IP Routing.
